We started Kirby Hoof Care with the goal of providing high-quality Hoof Care to the dairy community. Jess grew up on his uncles dairy in Middle Tennessee along with his parents hog farm. After college at East Tennessee State University where he majored in Surveying and Mapping he went into the work force, but his love for cows and the dairy industry kept calling him back to the farm. He became a dairy manager for his childhood friend and has managed a on a couple of large farms in the Texas Panhandle. While he was managing he realized the importance of trimming for a purpose of keeping the cows healthy and extending their longevity in the parlor. At that point he attended Dairyland Hoof Institute around 2008 in order to improve the cows on the farm he was managing. Jess has continued to trim for other farmers in Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, and now Wisconsin since attending trimming school. In 2022, Jess realized his love wasn't in managing on a large farm but for the industry itself. He and his wife, Shaunna, relocated from Texas with their two sons, Clay and Colton, to West Central Wisconsin. Shaunna continues as a nurse and running her online boutique along with working with Jess either behind the scenes at Kirby Hoof Care or out in the field with him.

Hoof trimming is all about creating comfort and balance for the cows. We offer corrective and maintenance trimming. Upright chute is used to trim cows and brought to farm. Jess uses both grinders and knives for trimming. Most modeling is done with a knife. We offer blocking and wrapping services for hoof insults.
We also offer on farm consulting for breeding and hoof care.

Colt also has a love of rodeo and bull riding and you can catch him riding locally on the weekends when he isn't working.
Clay is our oldest. He attended Western Welding Academy in Gillette, Wyoming. Clay has always had a soft spot for the dairy just like his dad. He loves working with cows and cropping. He is currently working as a welder but is hoping to start offering mobile on farm welding in 2024.
Maeloree, our daughter is a hand. She and her husband Daniel reside in the Texas Panhandle. Maelore learned to breed cows from her dad on the dairy he managed and will continue her bovine breeding education next year after the birth of their son.
Her husband Daniel is a truck driver and is in the process of starting his own trucking company hauling corn and other commodities along with sileage for farms. He hopes to run from Wisconsin down to South Texas as crop season progresses thru the mid west.
